Definīcija: When referring to the clause of a contract, a provision that maintains the rest of the contract in effect if any other provision is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable. If possible the contract will avoid total invalidity by severing the illegal, invalid or unenforceable provisions so that the rest of the contract will remain in effect.
